Very nice visit. With the Luxembourg card you've got the entrance for free. With kids we visited only lower floors and our 4-year old absolutely loved it. Only the elevator which we had to use because of our stroller was super slow. Otherwise a good experience.

Deceptively large museum, with 5 underground levels and even more above ground, it extends into the next door buildings. From modern art, furniture and life to prehistorics in the basement. Free entry (there is payment for some of the exhibitions.

I recently visited this museum, and I was absolutely blown away by the sheer size and diversity of its collection. Its archaeological section is particularly well-regarded, with pieces from the Roman era, medieval Luxembourg, and beyond. The museum offers a chronological journey through Luxembourg’s history, with artifacts and exhibitions that delve into everything from prehistoric times to the country’s 20th-century developments.One of the highlights for me was the modern art section, which houses some truly captivating works. I was particularly struck by a beautiful Picasso piece, which alone made the visit worthwhile. The layout is thoughtfully designed, allowing you to immerse yourself in each piece without feeling overwhelmed despite the vastness of the museum.An important thing to note is that they have some sections designed especially for kids, which is an amazing feat if you want to visit with your family!Whether you’re a seasoned art enthusiast or just someone who enjoys exploring culture, this museum is a must-see. There are 3 very interesting exhibitions. Tickets costs 7 euro. There are many permanent exhibitions. It was really wonderful to visit this museum but you need more time than 1 hour to watch all!

A beautiful museum which works best if one starts right from the bottom floor (prehistory) and works their way to the top (temporary exhibits).Being a free museum meant I tempered my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. The inclusion of English translation books was great too.The exhibits on the Roman period in Luxembourg were particularly good. I visited on a Tuesday morning and had the place almost to myself.

Perfect for a date on a rainy afternoon. Due to time constraints, we only managed a brief stroll through the top floor, where the paintings were located. However I could imagine spending a few hours here exploring each floor.*the entrance is free.

Free for visit. If you visit all of the museum you must have more enough time. The person in charge at the museum entrance was very helpful and considerate. Also it was very diverse.

This was great, especially it being open on a national holiday wnen everything is closed and I was there for almost two hours - and I'm not really into museums. It wasn't necessarily the collection that I liked but just the way it was all put together - old architecture mixed very well with a bit of modern art. Beautiful building too, with friendly staff. And hey, it's free!!

It is a great place to see the world history and the luxembourg too. There are quite a lot of monuments. There are around 8 to 10 floors to explore. There will be temporary exhibitions as well with the a paid ticket in 1 or 2 floors. Rest are free. Must visit place.

I think Luxembourg is my new favorite European city, and this muesum has a lot to do with it. When visiting the prehistoric and Roman archeological displays on the lower levels, look for the booklets at the entryways that are in English or German.LoL... my semester of high school French wasn't any help, and my Google Translate app had a few confusing results.Most of the displays on the art gallery side had French, German, and English displays.

Free entry! Make sure to have a euro coin for the locker and you can store your items.There's some serious soul searching in here, the whole place is huge, it goes down several floors to show you mankind's evolution to the modern art world.I went on the whim and was so glad I saw it, would recommend this to anyone for visiting for a morning or afternoon activity.

So much to see - for free!We were hesitant to visit as we didn't want to pay for the temporary exhibits and wrongly assumed there wouldn't be much to see in the free permanent portions. We decided to visit anyway and are happy to admit the museum actually offers a vast amount of exhibits for free.The building itself is huge and spans multiple floors, both above ground and 4 storeys below it! The exhibits vary from new and old art works like paintings and sculptures and furniture to historic artefacts of all kinds.The building can be very confusing, especially in the older converted parts so maybe find a map before you set off around the exhibits!Probably at least 2 hours to see everything without rushing, much longer if you like to read and digest everything fully.
